5 Natural ways to do facial at home

A good facial leaves your facial skin smooth, bright and flushed. A facial once in 15 days helps to improve complexion, increases blood circulation, rejuvenates the skin and relieves tension. To maintain your healthy skin between professional treatments or to do them yourself, try this basic at-home facial once a week.

Cleansing

Cleansing the skin is the first step in doing a facial. The process involves washing the face, ears and neck with the help of a cleanser so that the dirt or grime is removed from the skin. It is also necessary to remove makeup with the help of makeup remover.

Exfoliate

Using your fingers, rub a gentle exfoliating facial scrub in a circular motion on your face. Concentrate on the areas around your nose and forehead or if you have combo skin, work harder on the areas that tend to be greasy. Rinse your face well since exfoliating scrubs tend to be drying.

Steaming

Steaming opens the pores and helps to release toxins and impurities built up on the skin. Bring water to boil in a big vessel. Remove from heat. With a towel forming a tent over your head, lower/ean your face over the vessel and capture the steam. Take care not to go too close as it might scald your skin. You can add a tbsp of rose petals or lavender or thyme or rosemary to the water to get a stimulating cleanse.

Steam for 10-15 minutes leaving a gap in between. Finish off by splashing cool water on your face. If you have problematic skin or have sensitive skin, consult your skin specialist prior to facial steaming.
