Plane carrying Brazil football team crashes in Colombia, here's how many survived

An airplane with 81 people on board, including players from a Brazilian football team heading to Colombia for a regional tournament final, has crashed on its way to Medellin's international airport.

Medellin's Mayor Federico Gutierrez said that it is possible there are survivors.

"It's a tragedy of huge proportions," Mr Gutierrez told Blu Radio on his way to the site in a mountainous area outside the city where the chartered aircraft is believed to have crashed shortly before midnight local time.

The Colombian Civil Aviation Authority said that the Lamia Airlines aircraft "had issues over El Cerro Gordo, close to La Union in the state of Antioqiua."

Medellin's airport confirmed that the aircraft, which departed from Bolivia, was transporting the Chapecoense football team from southern Brazil, which was scheduled to play the Copa Sudamerica finals against Atletico Nacional on Wednesday in Colombia's Medellin. The aviation authority also confirmed the presence of the footballers on board.

The emergency operative committee COE and the Jose Maria Cordova de Rionegro airport said in a press release that the plane declared an emergency at 10pm local time while in the municipality of Ceja and La Union.

According to the statement the airplane said that it was experiencing "electrical issues".

The sudden announcement also included the influx of brand new 500 rupee notes and 2000 rupee notes instead of 1000.

Even before PM Modi declared the ban, there were messages going viral on Whatsapp that said something about all the 2000 notes having a NGC chip on it( Nano GPS Chip).

This NGC can help to track down the exact position of notes from anywhere. These messages start with an introductory paragraph about India having a yet another denomination to its currency shortly.

It reads-

“India is all set to add one more denomination to its currencies shortly. The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) will be issuing Rs 2,000 currency notes, the highest to come into circulation, even as some experts feel 7 high-value denominations should be discontinued to curb black money.”….

The message also contains about the NGC chip works and how easily you can remove the chip after finding the exact location of the 2000 rupee notes. But everything in the message is completely fake. It talks about getting a GPS signal from a distance of 120 metres below ground level which is senseless.
